Honouring Heroes Together
Founded in 2020, Remember The Heroes is a United Kingdom based non-profit organisation established out of a need to honour the heroes of World War II.
Remember The Heroes is a non-profit organisation born out of a deep passion for aviation, history, and the profound desire to honour the heroes of World War II. What drives us is not the pursuit of recognition, rewards, or glory, but a genuine commitment to preserving the memory of those who sacrificed everything for the values we cherish today. For many of us, this work is more than just a project; it is a lifelong passion that we undertake with dedication, heart, and engagement, knowing that the stories and values of the past must not fade away.
We are history enthusiasts, aviation lovers, and individuals who feel a deep responsibility to carry forward the legacy of the brave souls who fought for freedom. Our team works tirelessly, often in our free time, fuelled by the belief that the bravery, resilience, and sacrifice of World War II heroes should be remembered, celebrated, and taught to future generations. We are not driven by financial reward or fame – we are driven by the moral imperative to ensure these stories continue to inspire and guide us all.

At the core of Remember The Heroes is the belief that the remarkable courage and unwavering spirit of those who lived through the darkest days of the 20th century must remain a beacon for all of us today. Our mission is to honour the legacy of three exceptional generations: the Generation of Columbuses in Poland, The Greatest Generation in the United States, and Britain’s Greatest Generation. Although these generations come from different cultural and historical contexts, they were united by shared values – courage, solidarity, and a steadfast dedication to defending freedom and human dignity. Their stories, marked by extraordinary sacrifice, serve as timeless lessons in resilience and unity.
We do this work with great passion and care, understanding the importance of preserving not only the history but also the emotions, values, and lessons of that era. Through our commitment, we connect the past with the present, bridging the gap between the historical events of World War II and the generations of today. Whether we are safeguarding material artefacts, organising educational programs, or curating exhibitions, we bring history to life so that the bravery of these heroes is never forgotten.
Aviation is a central part of our work, as it played a crucial role in World War II. Our love for aviation is deeply intertwined with our dedication to honouring the pilots and ground crews who risked their lives in service of freedom. We participate in air shows, organise exhibitions, and host events that celebrate their contributions to the war effort. For us, it’s not just about showcasing history – it’s about keeping alive the legacy of those who soared through the skies during the war, ensuring their stories continue to inspire future generations of aviation enthusiasts and beyond.
Everything we do at Remember The Heroes is powered by a deep sense of purpose, and by people who care. We are not professionals seeking profit or accolades; we are a group of dedicated individuals, working with heart and soul, who believe in the power of memory, history, and community. By participating in our events, contributing your own stories, or simply learning from the resources we provide, you too can become part of this movement – a movement that believes in the importance of honouring the past and educating the future.

On the other hand, the Vision of Remember The Heroes speaks to where we are heading – we envision a world in which the values learned from the past become the foundation of daily life. In our ideal world, these values – brotherhood, freedom, justice, and courage – are not merely historical memories but a living source of inspiration guiding the actions of future generations. The vision of Remember The Heroes imagines a reality where history forms the basis of a moral compass, leading young people to bold actions rooted in the principles that helped previous generations overcome the most challenging times.
Our vision is to build a world that deeply respects history, where the memory of war heroes and their values not only survives but becomes a vital part of our identity. We strive to create a reality where history shapes the future and young generations draw lessons from the past to build a better, more just world based on the foundations of human rights, civil liberties, and human dignity.
