Our Mission
Honouring Heroes, Preserving Legacy
At Remember The Heroes, our mission is to honour the heroes of World War II and inspire future generations to embrace the timeless values that shaped three remarkable generations: the Generation of Columbuses in Poland, The Greatest Generation in the United States, and Britain’s Greatest Generation in the United Kingdom.
These generations, forged by the hardships of war, the Great Depression, occupation, and post-war reconstruction, built societies rooted in values such as personal responsibility, humility, work ethic, loyalty, honesty, patriotism, sacrifice, family, and optimism. These values not only enabled them to endure the most challenging times but also played a critical role in rebuilding post-war societies based on freedom, human dignity, and the rule of law.

Our mission extends beyond mere remembrance; we actively work to preserve material evidence of the past. We encourage people to care for the mementoes often forgotten in private homes – photographs, letters, medals, documents, and personal belongings. These artefacts are invaluable records of the events that shaped today’s world. Tragically, younger generations often dismiss these relics as unnecessary, discarding them without realising their historical significance. Our goal is to save these precious items from destruction and safeguard them as living witnesses to the past for future generations.
These mementoes, regardless of their size or material value, serve as a bridge between the past and present, reminding us of those who endured, and the events that changed the course of history. Every preserved item adds to the larger narrative, building a fuller picture of the lives, struggles, and sacrifices of the Generation of Columbuses, The Greatest Generation, and Britain’s Greatest Generation.
In addition to preserving memories, a key part of our mission is to maintain the resting places of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their nations. These graves, often neglected or forgotten, stand as living monuments to their sacrifice. Tending to these sites is not only an act of respect towards those who gave their lives but also a responsibility we all share. By maintaining these resting places, we nurture the roots of our shared history, a history that must not be forgotten, but whose foundations must be passed on to future generations.
The shared values

The shared values and experiences of these generations formed the bedrock for free nations in their fight against regimes rooted in tyranny, oppression, and terror. Their courage made possible a worldwide resistance to totalitarian ideologies and united societies in the defence of freedom, human dignity, and the rule of law.
We believe that the best way to teach the values that sustained our forebears is through active engagement. We aim to give young people the opportunity to participate in preserving places of memory, organising exhibitions of wartime artefacts, and attending educational events that commemorate wartime heroes. This hands-on approach to education moves beyond dry theory, transforming history into a living lesson that helps us understand the values that are crucial to building and maintaining a free and just world.
At Remember The Heroes, our mission is not just to remind people of the past, but to create a space where history becomes a tool for shaping a future rooted in values like courage, sacrifice, brotherhood, and respect for freedom. We believe that the active involvement of young people in remembering heroes will help them better understand the role these values play in today’s world and why they must be cherished in daily life.
In everything we do, we are driven by passion, commitment, and heart. We do this not for recognition or fame, but because it is a calling – a lifelong passion that we believe in wholeheartedly.
To Remember the Heroes
Remembering the heroes is the cornerstone of our mission. The Generation of Columbuses, The Greatest Generation, and Britain’s Greatest Generation were people who sacrificed their lives, health, and youth in the fight for freedom. We honour those who fought against regimes of tyranny and coercion so that their deeds are never forgotten and can inspire future generations. Their sacrifice, courage, and brotherhood are examples that should endure for centuries as a source of inspiration for all of us.
As part of our mission, we take great care in maintaining the burial sites of these heroes, ensuring that everyone can pay them the respect they deserve, and that these places serve as symbolic reminders of history. Each of these sites is a living testament to their sacrifice, reminding us of how precious freedom truly is. Caring for these places is not only an act of respect for the deceased but also a responsibility we hold for future generations, ensuring that the memory of these heroes is passed on.
To Acquaint with History
Education about history is crucial for understanding the modern world and avoiding the mistakes of the past. We believe that learning about World War II, the lives of its heroes, and the dramatic events that unfolded during that time is essential for building a better and fairer world. Understanding history not only helps us comprehend the past but also teaches us how to prevent the same errors from recurring in the future.
Through this pillar, we encourage the preservation and sharing of mementos that can survive thanks to the involvement of new generations, saving them from being forgotten. Photos, documents, personal items – all these serve as invaluable sources of knowledge about the past and help preserve the material remnants of history that younger generations can rediscover. Preserving these mementos is our shared responsibility because they are precious fragments of our identity and national heritage.
To Follow the Spirit
The spirit of sacrifice, courage, and brotherhood that accompanied the heroes of World War II should serve as a model for all of us. To follow the spirit means not only remembering their actions but also actively putting their ideals into practice – both in daily life and in difficult moments that demand courage, a moral compass, and a commitment to the greater good.
We want these values to be the foundation on which new generations build their lives and decisions, drawing inspiration from the heroes of the past. The spirit of The Greatest Generation, the Generation of Columbuses, and Britain’s Greatest Generation, their resilience, and their adherence to principles should serve as lessons for all of us in the future. These generations not only fought for freedom but also built lasting communities based on values such as honesty, brotherhood, and respect for others.
